​Behold, bless ye the LORD, all ye servants of the LORD, which by night stand in the house of the LORD. – Psalm 134:1

When I read this verse one morning, I wondered what the last phrase meant in context. Those the speaker was addressing are thought to have been priests and Levites who watched the temple through the night. One commentator referred to this verse:

And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night. – 1 Chronicles 9:33

That got me thinking. The priests and Levites may have felt alone at times. They worked very hard for God all the time, but I wonder if they ever wished they had been born into a different tribe. You may know something is a privilege in your head, but you…
