When I read this verse one morning, I wondered what the last phrase meant in context. Those the speaker was addressing are thought to have been priests and Levites who watched the temple through the night. One commentator referred to this verse:
And these are the singers, chief of the fathers of the Levites, who remaining in the chambers were free: for they were employed in that work day and night. – 1 Chronicles 9:33
