PEACE

Quote

The world is Topsy-turvy. We need God’s peace that is greater than our understanding more now than ever. We Christians must stay in prayer to stay in peace, and corporate prayer to provide global peace.

Time To Come Into The Light

Quote

Many of us are afraid to come into the light. We hide in the shadows hoping that our sins aren’t discovered. Our sins are tearing us apart. The sins others have laid upon us are tearing us up, but fear will not allow us to expose them. Our actions are destroying us. We need help. Self-recovery is not working, yet fear and doubt hold us back from seeking help. Many become alienated, lose friends and family, and feel lost in the darkness but cannot navigate through to the light.

What does John 3:20-21 mean to you? Is there anything you need to shed – anger, rage, disappointment, evil acts, loss? What do you fear will be exposed if you seek help, spiritual and/or psychological?

It’s time to stop existing in the dark and begin living in the light. It’s time to take a deep breath, exhale, practice the truth, repent, seek God’s help, go to counseling* and move into the light.

* God created careers and professions. He created doctors, psychiatrists,  psychologists, and counselors to help us work through our darkness. Make today the best day of your life. Take the first step on your knees and the next contacting a professional.

Be Strong, Do Not Waver

Quote

It is important that we do not waver in our faith, even when we do not feel like it, or when things are not going our way.

The Lord is our rock, shelter, healer, teacher, advocate, counselor, guide, friend, and Father. He is always by our side. He is always with us.

We are secure in the hands of the Lord, when we waver, we enter uncharted waters.

Forgive Seventy X Seven Times

Quote

Forgiveness6

Jesus commands us to forgive those who harmed us seventy times seven times: there is no limit to the number of times we should forgive those who sinned against us.

My June 13 Post Forgiveness is Not Easy, discussed the difficulties of forgiving. The May 16 Post – Satan Never Rests – Experience the  Joy of Forgiveness, shares God’s promise to forgive us of our sins. The focus of this Post is how we must forgive and why Jesus said you must forgive seventy times seven times. The concept of forgiveness is very intricate. When others hurt us, we feel violated, offended and harmed. It is not easy to forgive those who sinned against us, in fact, Peter wanted Jesus to provide a rule to obey. He asked Jesus, who many times must we forgive someone who sinned against us, asking as many as seven? In other words, Jesus, give me a number.

“Lord, how often should I forgive someone who sins against me? Seven times? No, not seven times, Jesus replied, but seventy times seven!”
Matthew 18:21-22, NLT

This scripture shares that there is no fixed number to ascribe to forgiveness. We should forgive as often as they repent and acknowledge their fault. The frequency of the occasion is not bound by forgiveness, the mandate it is exercising the grace of forgiveness from the heart.

What does forgiveness require of us?

Forgiveness is not about salvation, it is forgiving because first God forgave us, and he forgave us at great cost.

According to Biblegateway, forgiveness must issue from the heart (18:35) it must be sincere (compare Is 59:13). God has forgiven us; if we fail to show grace to others who have repented-guilty parties in a divorce, former gang members, adulterers, homosexuals, gossipers, crafty politicians-then this text simply promises us hellfire (compare Mt 5:7; 6:12, 14-15).

Why is it so difficult to forgive? The truth is, we often forgive intellectually, by simply voicing the words. It is quite another thing to forgive from the heart. We offer forgiveness through words that are void of the love based in our heart. It is possible to receive forgiveness but not truly experience forgiveness from our heart. This is why it is so difficult to share forgiveness with others. Forgiveness must be from the heart. When you have an unforgiving spirit, you put yourself in prison spiritually and emotionally.  People who do not forgive often swing the pendulum to hate. We pay dearly for the luxury of carrying a grudge.

He who cannot forgive breaks the bridge over which he himself must pass.

We Are Disciples

Quote

Each of us is a disciple of Christ. Our mandate is to study the Bible, learn the scriptures, apply them in our lives, and share them with others.

In short, others become disciples, followers of Christ, observing and listening to you. God lives in you and his Word convicts; you are the vessel, the bearer of the News.

Paul shared, “My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.” 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:4-5‬ ‭NIV

Becoming a follower of Christ, a disciple is a process. It does not happen overnight. When you receive Christ as your Lord and Savior, you enter into the process. It is the beginning of your walk with Christ.

I know that as I mature as a Christian warrior, my actions and deeds become more evident, in that much of what I do is guided intuitively by the Word. When I am counseling others, it is being guided by the Word. When I look in the mirror a see a quieter, more peaceful demeanor.

The Word has become my language and communication tool. When I regress, I am immediately convicted, remorseful, and feel I have let God down because others have seen me out of sync with the Word. I repent, and may share my feelings with those around me, and move forward in the Word, continuing down my path to becoming more Christ-like. As teachers and leaders often share, all experiences are teachable moments.

Contemplate your transformation. Are you studying the Word and seeing it guide your thoughts and actions? Are you sharing your experiences with others? Are you using your experiences as teachable moments? Most importantly, are you spending time with the Lord and giving the Holy Spirit a clean residence, continually stripping away your old nature?

Forgiveness is Not Easy

Quote

Believe me, it is not easy to forgive, because it is not easy to forget past hurts. Before we can forgive as God commanded,  we must first learn how to disconnect from past hurts. This is the most difficult part of the preparation for forgiving. We give life to our thoughts every time we allow them to re-enter our consciousness. They are restrictive, remotely controlled, and Satan’s ploy to distract us and keep us from activating God’s Word in our lives.

It is impossible to remove them if they live in our present day thoughts, they remain part of us and continue to define us as earthly vessels. However, it is possible to retire them to a place of dormancy where they can no longer access energy to be reborn. Each time they resurface and we cowl to their power we replace the power of the Word of God, which is our ultimate power source. Satan created or minimally inspired the hurt that weakens us, by giving renewed life to the experience(s) each time we are distracted by them, meaning they do not lay dormant as long as you continue to give them energy through our thoughts.

Satan inspires and maintains past hurts to weaken us.

Satan knows that as long as we are enslaved by past hurts, we cannot follow God’s command to forgive. This is the wedge he placed between our spiritual development and our carnality. We cannot forgive if we cannot control our thoughts and release ourselves from continuously being victimized by our thoughts.

We must retire the past and allow it to become part of our past, in a catatonic state so we can stabilize our present, and mature as Christian Warriors. Never forget we live in a good fight4principality war and we must take God’s commands to heart and use his principles and weapons to secure our ability to control our own thinking.

To this end, all change is a process, a procedure. We must relegate our hurts to the past. We cannot learn to forgive as God forgave us until we rewire our thinking. The scripture says we are not of this world, though it tries to enslave us. We do however live in this world where Satan continues to treat us as pawns in his plan to take over the earth and all that resides on it. Consequently, we must stay vigilant, awake and constantly return thoughts that pervade our thinking back into a catatonic state. In short, we must speak to the hurt, reject the thought and replace it with God’s words.

As a caveat, we should not remain in harmful environments if there is physical or emotional harm, however, if the experiences are behind us, we must learn to take away their power and replace it with the Word of God, our true power source.
The actual scripture reads: “Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.” Col 3:13, NLT

Forgiveness1Our humanistic conversation sounds something like this: He/She harmed me, how can I forgive them? I hate them. God’s response is, I forgave the people that crucified my innocent son, there is nothing worse than that. If I can forgive them, you can forgive those that caused you personal harm as well. Don’t let the hate become a badge of victimization, an albatross around your neck. Capture it once and Forgiveness3for all and put it in cryosleep. Is this easy? No. But God commanded and our answer should be ‘Yes Lord. I forgive those that have done me harm and am no longer bound by the hurt.’

God’s Command to us – FORGIVE, as I forgave you.
