Update with scriptures to further support the truth of His Word.
If God is the Word then it stand to reason, the Word cannot fail.
John 1:1 ensures us, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD had made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass. ~ Joshua 21:45, ESV.
We are spiritual Israel, therefore His Word cannot fail us.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go. ~ Joshua 1:9
The Lord is with us wherever we go, even when we are in doubt. Don’t doubt – have faith. He is holding you up, you have not perished and He cannot fail.
We have been redeemed. We are no longer bound by sin. We in the practical sense however, live in a sinful world and still have a sinful nature until Christ returns. How do we repent and change?
~ Lisa Blair
It is comfortable to believe that we have been freed of all sin, but have we? Christ’s death freed us from the imprisonment of sin, we have been reclaimed, however, we live on a sinful earth with a sinful nature. Sin is all around us and in us. His death on the cross freed is from the imprisonment of sin and enabled us to repent and be forgiven, but woah, too many continue in their sin after repenting, thinking they got a pass. This is not a Monopoly game. This is our life in Christ. No passes, only forgiveness. This is the key, forgiveness brings responsibility, once forgiven it is our responsibility to stop the sinful practice. This may take time, however it must be done, otherwise we are still wallowing in the sin we were forgiven for committing.

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins.” Romans 3:23-24 NLT. bible.com
When we received Christ as our Lord and Savior the act established our faith in Christ. Through faith we can ask for and accept forgiveness. Our relationship rests on faith and builds on the foundation of faith.
When we are forgiven for our sin, it is an act of faith. Our faith is wed to our relationship with Christ. When we walk in faith, we are following God’s law. The law is His instruction about how we should live. It is not just the 10 Commandments, but all of the instructions written in the Bible. “ The Lord blessed Abraham because he obeyed Him, because he had faith that God’s commands were good and trustworthy…obedience follows genuine faith.” (Life Principles Bible, notation, Edition 2, page 1885).
Through faith we become the bearer of His Word. The Holy Spirit is nestled in us and it directs us, warns us, and guides us. It is the still small voice that says, do not go this way or that, stop-breathe-reconsider, danger, danger. He also nudges us to help others that we do not know or sometimes places a thought about a person you do not know on your heart and it drives you to pray for them – that is the Holy Spirit working through you. When we ask for His forgiveness, we are saying we will set this practice aside and replace it with your Word, we will no longer repeat the practice. Forgiveness ushers in our need to obey. We obey because of who God is in our life, the act is not the work that God seeks, it is His obedience because we truly believe He is our Savior and Lord.. In Galatians 5, the scripture shares,
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, And those who are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.” Galatians 5:16-17, 19-22, 24-25 NKJV https://bible.com
So, what now? Now is the time to obey the Lord, claim faith as our operating practice, repent, receive and believe we are forgiven of our sins. The trick is to ignoreSatan’s doubts regarding our failures. They have been forgiven if we believe Christ is our Savior. Christ is the victor!
Throughout the Bible we read that we should seek God’s guidance. Often the following question is, how do we do that? Read the page below, it offers the guidance you were seeking.
We will celebrate Christ rising and fulfilling the first part of God’s promise of our salvation within hours depending upon where you are in the world. Hallelujah! We are redeemed and saved.
This year deeply contemplate what your salvation means. There is so much going on in our lives and in the world, how can we be better stewards to all of it? What little things can you change in your life at this very moment. It may be a smile to a stranger or a loved one. It may be seeking out homeless services and supporting it in someway. It may be helping a single parent, reaching out to those around you. It could be picking up a piece of trash on the street and throwing it away. And most importantly, it may be reestablishing or strengthening your relationship with Christ, reading the Bible, attending Bible study, going to church, or sitting and discussing a scripture with someone else. (Important note: you must receive Christ as your Lord and Savior before you can begin a relationship with him. Recite Romans 10:9-10 with an open heart. …that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. biblegateway.com) If you are not yet comfortable with the above suggestions you may begin an internal conversation with the Holy Spirit whom Christ left with us.
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;apart from me you can do nothing. John 15:5 dailverses.net
We should all let this season have purpose in our lives, it should inspire us to become more mature Christians. Others should see the light of the Holy Spirit flowing through us. We should stand out. We are different.
So, Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him. Hebrews 9:28. Daily verses.net
This is not a seasonal event. It is a recognition of our Savior being crucified in the worst way to save us from our mortal sin.
At the close of day, we should always thank the Lord for seeing us through another day. And, if we believe He saw us through the day, we should acknowledge He will do the same at night.
Sometimes disasters break our Godlessness. ~ Lisa Blair
“A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” Psalms 68:5 NIV
While studying this scripture this morning and listening to the devotional, I immediately thought of the Polish people. They are defenders of the fatherless, and of widows. They are the bridge to the homeless seeking asylum. You see, the majority of the Ukrainians escaping the attack on their nation are fleeing to Poland.
The lion’s share have gone to Poland, where the number of refugees that have arrived – about 1.8 million – matches the population of the city of Warsaw, Poland’s capital and largest city. (The number of Ukrainians who’ve fled to Poland is equal to the population of Warsaw by Becky Sullivan. NPR. March 16, 20225:00 AM ET)
The Polish people, according to the newscast, have opened their arms. People are defending the homeless, the broken, and alienated victims of war caring for them as they would a family member. The Polish peoples’ actions are examples of God’s love for us. They are providing provisions in abundance, seeking to help those in need. They are sacrificing for those who have not.
This brings me to my quote, Sometimes disasters break our Godlessness. For those of us who live in America, many do not understand God’s love for each of us. We do not understand that His Holy Words are more than Words. We do not apply the convictions He rests on our souls as actions to be taken. We disregard the small voice and turn our eyes away from those suffering on the street. We feel helpless and hopeless in the land of plenty.
It is time we turn to God our sovereign leader and father. We the Godless should look at the Polish people as examples of doing God’s work, who are giving to others things that were once their own, extending an open heart and hand to those in need.
To be clear, we are not all Godless, but our actions reflect a sense of Godlessness. There are many in need in this country. We are often quick to give donations while avoiding those on the street, choosing to look away, condemn, and dismiss them as lazy people who choose not to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps. I say, what bootstraps? If they had bootstraps, they would not be on the street. Most are indigent in spirit, as well as physically and economically lacking. When you fall into the hole, you lose a sense of self and hope, finding yourself in a state of despair. If we acted more like the Polish towards the Ukrainians, our Nation would be made whole. The children of God will have stepped up and begun living and acting on God’s Word, becoming fathers to the fatherless and defenders of widows. (In this case, widows are all of those who are without resources and hope.)
