This is the time of year Believer’s and nonbeliever’s alike recognize Jesus as our Lord and Savior. There’s no denying God’s love for us.

Receive God’s Help
“I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the LORD, Who made heaven and earth.” Psalms 121:1-2 NKJV
Lift your eyes to the hills from where your help comes from; your help comes from the Lord. You are never helpless. You are never without support. However, it’s up to you to receive the help He abundantly provides. When you call on the Lord, His Holy Spirit will come to your aid; He will mightily rush to your rescue. He will help you lift your hands in worship. He will help you sustain under pressure without breaking. He will help you seize every promise that He’s made to you. Don’t worry my friend, He will help you.
There will never be a moment in our lives when we will not need God’s help. So we reach up and reach out our hands like little children and say, “Father! Lift me up! Father! Fill my cup! Father! Set me free! Father! Strengthen me!” And His Holy Spirit will do just that!
Prayer: Yes, Lord! I need your help. I can’t make it without you. I can’t do anything without you. But with you, nothing’s impossible. So I cry out, heal me, strengthen me, set me free and help me to persevere by faith. I receive your supernatural help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Random Acts of Kindness – RAK

Today I read a Random Act of Kindness or RAK.
Backdrop: I live in Northern Ca and the Butte Camp Fire, about two hours north of me the fire destroyed an entire town and many other homes in the region. The RAK is dedicated to s man who gave every student that attended the high school burned down a $1,000 check. His contribution totaled $1.1 million dollars of his own money. He said he wanted to cheer them up.

Most people are not givers or are stingy givers meaning they make sure their giving will not reduce their ability to purchase personal goods and services. While that may be the case for this millionaire, I doubt it. THIS IS A RAK.

“Call to me and I will answer you.” Hello God. I’m here, have time to talk? Yes, I long to share time with you. “I will tell you great and hidden things.”
Praying to God opens our conversation with Him. It is our time to pour out our thoughts and wait for His direction. I pray throughout the day. Sometimes prayer is just an acknowledgement, simply saying ‘hello God’, other times it a request about something. It may take a moment to express my gratitude, during a 15 minute break, mornings before my day begins and before bed. When and how often do you pray?
Prayer is the most important thing we can do. Not because God doesn’t know what is going on in our lives, but because it is the time when our relationship is most alive. I have learned that standing firm in our belief, in the darkness and the light keeps us close to God.
One of the devotionals I am studying decribes prayer as follows.
“We can “approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need” (Heb. 4:16).
Our family keeps a prayer journal because we know God displays His power through supernatural answers to prayer. We take seriously the claim of Psalm 5:3 where David writes, “In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly.” Can you imagine living with the expectation that God will answer your requests and display His power on your behalf?”
Isn’t it amazing that God chose you to display His power through your life? Prayer is our connection.
