The rotating sphere is an example of our life. Things have symmetry, they function in syncopation, and they do not slow down. It is our responsibility to discipline ourselves to step away.
It is vitally important that we take time out of our day to communicate with the Lord in prayer. He provides our symmetry, syncopation, and flow.
The absence of prayer leads to chaos in our lives, we are not anchored by the Lord’s plan for our lives. The evil one works to speed up the rotation of our lives and the force pulls us from all that we know.
After Jesus dismissed the crowd, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Matthew 14:23
The crowd can be compared to the chaos that is rotating around us today. While the crowd was there to hear him, they also took his energy. Long days, little rest or quiet weakens our relationship with the Lord. Jesus found it necessary to escape to regain balance. We must do the same to remain sane and maintain a healthy dialogue with our Lord.
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solidarity place, where he prayed. Mark 1:35
Jesus knew prayer anchored him to his Father. Throughout the Bible, there are instances where Jesus and his disciples began their day in quiet communion with God. He knew the importance of removing himself from his work to commune with his Father in whom he gained strength, guidance, and direction.
When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father. Matthew 6:6
Practice breaking away from life in the rotating sphere of chaos. Prayer strengthens your relationship with the Lord and unlocks the truth in the Bible.
