Learn to be still. God is patiently waiting.
~ Lisa Blair

One of the things I’ve learned while studying the Word is that God has sewn a lesson into every event and experience in our lives. Tribulations, trials, suffering, and joy are all tied to His lessons. However, it is generally futile to identify the lesson if we are unable to still ourselves and spend time with Him. God commands us to be still, to spend time in communion with Him, to listen to Him, and enter into dialogue with Him. Psalm 46:10 says, Be still and know I am God…
I shared in an earlier post that God will sideline you if He determines you are not placing Him first in your life. God sidelined me for two years because I did not pay attention to His still quiet voice, I was always too busy to soend time with Him. What I learned during that time was, that the peace I experienced during these times is a peace I never experienced prior to being stilled. It’s a peace I cry out for and long to experience again and again. One of the lessons that pertain to our spiritual life is to examine our relationship with God while we are in lockdown, during the pandemic, and provide time to be with Him alone and in peace. It may require waking before everyone in your home wakes up, or take time while the children nap. The point is – carve out time. Once you do, you will observe the world around you change. Why does it change, because your spirit changes. Learn to be still.
