Most people are familiar with the 23rd Psalm, even if they know nothing else about the Bible. But have you really thought about what it means for God to be our Shepherd? Have you ever spent any time around sheep? They are really dumb animals, according to all who have raised them. They follow the lead sheep and may even follow it into danger if the shepherd or keeper isn’t there to stop them. They graze until the pastureland is desolate and won’t move until the shepherd moves them. Wait! Is that really dumb or is it obedient and cautious? Honor, Worship, and Praise

Quote

Lord, you are my shield is a declarative statement. We need a shield (more like a protective cylinder) to protect us from all evil. Knowing we are protected gives us the stamina to keep our heads high, our backs strong, and our minds clear.

God’s glory, His promises to us, keeps us centered and peaceful through trials, dismay, depression, and uncertainty. As Christians, we know our home is in heaven and the things of this earth are temporal. We do not fall prey to Satan’s wiles placing all hope in the things of this earth, our hope is in our Savior.

God was to Israel a reality more than a work of faith. Their faith was basically by sight. However, today, faith is the substance of things unseen (Heb 11:1). Man sins and God does not correct him. If man does well he is not rewarded for it (2 Tim 3:12). Thus, faith in God’s existence is to believe that the Holy Bible was totally inspired of God (2 Tim 3:16,17). If mankind believes the bible proceeded from God, then God verily exists. If they don’t believe the Bible emanated from God, then God is no more than a fairy tale created by a group of men.

Faith Is Essential

The Hebrew writer expressed it: “But without…
